Flowers!
My soundtrack. Although one could argue that techno from Detroit is perhaps more of an autumny genre.

Me and my friend Brun where out in the woods searching for golden chanterelles yesterday. It was such a great autumn day. First, we rode our bicycles out to Nacka nature reserve. No luck there though, so we continued out to Älta, where I scored some records and a Sartre book (La Nausée) at a flea market. I love when it’s obvious that you are the first person to go through a crate of records at a private estate flea market: All the good stuff is still there!
In the end, we didn’t find that many chanterelles. Allthough more than are depicted here:

The few we found, however, tasted heavenly fried in butter with some salt and pepper.

And oh boy, there were lots and lots of lingonberries to be found (we didn’t pick any though)

…and blueberries. Yum!

Brun.

I arrived late at the gig tonight, so I missed a couple of songs. The Quiet Nights Orchestra were playing at the legendary jazz club Fasching here in Stockholm. My old friend Peter is the leader of the band and plays the trombone.
All I have to say is: hot damn! Amazing jazz, nice atmosphere and a couple of Mariestads – the evening couldn’t have been much better. Well, I was kind of disappointed that the singer of the band, Sofie, didn’t recognize me even though we went to high school together. Maybe it was my mustache and ball cap that kept her from recognizing me? To comfort myself I picked up their 12-inch release on Japanese label P-Vine – as well as their full length “Chapter One” on CD – at a friend discount.
I didn’t have a camera with me, so some videos from their release party at Berns will have to suffice. (A party I missed for reasons unknown.)
Today was such a nice day! After a visit to the gym I shaved down my three-week-beard to a mustache. Then I went out into a sunny Stockholm.
First I went to check out this store called +46 in the shopping mall PUB in central Stockholm. The reason was because I had read on Wood Wood‘s website that they sell Head Porter there. Huuuge disappointment to say the least. No Head Porter, impolite staff and simply extremely boring. I wonder how they pay the bills? In fact, I wonder how the entire PUB mall does it – nearly empty during a big summer sale!

Why is Stockholm an empty spot on the map for Visvim and Head Porter? It’s about time they start sell their stuff here. There’s definitely a market for it. Apparently C Concept Store is going to sell Head Porter and Head Porter+ eventually, but when?
So I went to A.P.C. and bought a shirt instead. A.P.C. is always nice, everything they do looks good. You can just walk in there and pick out anything as long as it’s your size and it will look good on you. On the same street (Krukmakargatan) Nitty Gritty is situated, where I also paid a visit.
Then I needed some good coffee, so I went to Mellqvist Kaffebar.
Afterwards I walked home.
